Seven Key Steps To Building An Effective Email Marketing List
You may have been working on building your list for awhile and haven’t really gotten the results you’ve been hoping for. Here’s a quick rundown on seven key areas to focus on when building your list of prospects. You may be doing some of them but need to consolidate your strategy and like a good chef, combine your ingredients in the right proportion for maximum effect.
1) Use a flytrap. That means you need to offer an incentive to your prospects that they would be interested in. If you don’t have a free offer that matches the keywords that your ads or articles are optimized for, go out and get one. No one really wants a free book on candle making if they are looking for weight loss products.
2) Email strategy.
Know your numbers. First of all, know how many emails you need to have to make the kind of money you need. What market are you going to pursue? How many people can you get each day into your auto-responder and what kind of conversion will you need to have to make sales?
Suppose you figure that you need 25 to 50 subscribers a day to make the kind of money you want? How are you going to get them? What steps do you need to take to put that kind of traffic in your auto-responder on a consistent basis?
3) Article marketing.
If you have the time and the ability to create articles you can build a very big list. The issue is of course time and talent. It will take a bit of time to generate the necessary amount of optimized articles and then it will take a bit of time to build momentum.
4) Submit your articles to the top article directories.
Maintain consistently in production on your blog or Squidoo lens. You will need to stay consistent for the duration of the time it takes to reach critical mass. If you need to get to 5,000 subscribers on your list, you need to divide your critical mass number by the number of days you think you’ll need to get there. What you are left with is the goal of attracting a certain amount of targeted subscribers by a certain date.
5) Understanding of your niche market.
You must first of all give some serious thinking as to which niche market you intend to step into. Do the necessary research and continue to bolster that research to ensure that you know where to find the targeted enthusiasts who want your products.
6) Evaluate your systems.
If you get 4 to 5 new subscribers a day from article marketing, you must evaluate your tactics to get the rest of your daily supply of subscribers. If you need 25 subscribers a day and you are only getting 5, you now need to figure where the rest will come from.
7) Your blog
You might be able to get another 4 to 5 subscribers a day from your blog. Get a blog together that targets our niche. You will have to take time to make and maintain the blog though. The process takes time and work, I know. If you can tie your blog to Google AdWords and pump up your readership you’ll be able to add more people each day to your subscriber list.
