An Online Marketing Strategy That I Intend To Carry Out

When I was doing my yearly planning for 2010, I listed the five marketing strategies that I intend to carry out. Number one on that list…Article marketing. I create and submit a helpful article at least one time a week.

Just in case you are not knowledgeable about article marketing yet, it entails writing enlightening and beneficial articles and submitting them to article directories – giving consent to any person to republish your quality article provided your author resource box is left intact.

Allow me to share some results I have personally experienced from article marketing:

Free Targeted Traffic To My Site

Very high authority article directories, like Ezine Articles, enjoy a great deal of traffic (we’re talking oodles of eyeballs each and every month). Many of people that read my articles regularly click on the backlinks in my author resource box and wind up going to my site. That’s no cost targeted traffic that I otherwise may not have been able to attract to my site!

The truth is, traffic from article directories make up a significant slice of my web site visitors. Such a vast amount so that, once, my site fell from its Google’s rankings and I barely realized it. I kept getting a good deal of site visits, regularly coming from the articles I’ve written and published in article directories – a few of them a couple of years old.

Improved Rankings in Google and other search engines…

Search engine optimization (SEO) professionals say that on the list of most important ways to get very high Google rankings on your targeted keywords is to get one way backlinks to your site. The hot button is the anchor text of these links needs to be the keywords you would like to rank high for.

This method works so well that an online marketing guru once succeeded in having his web page rank number one in Google for the keywords “coolest guy on earth” or something like that! – simply by having all his buddies link to his site with that anchor text. That is how formidable linking is.

These are the same links you get from the typically high-authority article directories all linking back to your site through the author resource box.

Profitable Affiliate Sales…

A lot of article directories enable you to link, not just to your site, but to an affiliate product’s sales page along with your affiliate links. Which means your article gets blasted all over the Internet, accordingly increasing the possibilities of someone clicking on your affiliate links and buying the product. The outcome? More affiliate commissions for you.

This concept would be the essence of the so-called “bum marketing” or lazy marketing, which doesn’t even call for you to own a web site. All that you must do is craft and forward helpful articles to article directories and you make affiliate commissions from your articles for so long as they’re online. We’re talking years at this juncture.

Another benefit of article marketing is that you grow to be a published writer and, for that reason, an authority about the topic. Actually, an acquaintance of mine got interviewed on public TV because the reporter read one of her articles on the world wide web. That is media exposure that might have cost hundreds or even thousands of dollars! Regrettably, I’ve not had that kind of media opportunity – yet!
